Participants should follow their veterinarians' recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. Proof of rabies inoculation may be required. Guests are always welcome to visit our classes! Classes are FREE for CCI or other recognized service dog organizations.
CLASS INFORMATION & CANCELLATION POLICY
Because class size is limited and sufficient time is neccessary to contact alternate students, class tuition may only be refunded if notice, in writing or by email, is received seven (7) business days prior to the start date of a class by the instructor or Training Director.
Class registration closes 24 hours in advance of the class start date. You must pre-register by completing JTDCs online Registration Form and Animal Questionnaire in order to attend a class. Classes are subject to cancellation or date changes at the discretion of the Jupiter Tequesta Dog Club (JTDC).
JTDC does not offer partial refunds, transfers of monies from one class to another or private instruction in lieu of group classes. There shall be no refunds for bitches in season.

Do you want to learn to handle your dog for the show ring? Then you may want to attend our Conformation Handling Classes.
These are drop in classes so no registration forms are required.
Classes will not be held on holidays that fall on Mondays.

TIME: 6 pm - 7:00 pm
COST: Members: $47; Nonmembers: $72 (Cost includes 6 weeks of FAU parking tags which are $2).
COURSE DESCRIPTION: Work on building attention, motivation, and fundamentals for success including developing body awareness (forward, back, side-step, pivot, scoot sit, spin, set-up, etc.), review rhyth heeling, teach find heel, and introduce other components of heeling (circles, figure 8s, pace changes, halts, turns, and handler footwork) required for heeling in the competition ring. Heeling pieces will be put together to practice patterns for Beginner Novice (with Signs) and Novice (with Voice). Stays and recalls will include continued skill development, introduce proofing and practice exams (sit for exam/stand for exam). This class is only for friendly, non-reactive dogs. No aggressive dogs. No females in season.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Basic Obedience, or Focus Foundation,or Canine Good Citizen, or Instructor Approval.
Required Materials: Flat buckle collar or appropriate training collar (no head halters; no harnesses' no tags or any other jingling or decorative items attached); 6-ft leash; favorite toy or two; lots and lots of small, soft training treats; treat pouch or pockets; water and water dish; handler must wear close toe shoes. Optional: clicker, mat or crate.
